Beautiful Weather/ A Top Ten Day In Virginia/ A Rally Downtown

Blogs or Posts, David's Writing

This morning as I returned from the exercise parlor I noticed something very unusual in the air. There is nothing in the air! All traces of humidity have vanished!

It’s as if New Mexico or Arizona decided to pay Virginia a visit. And that’s why I have officially designated today, September 2, 2009, a Top Ten Day of the Year. Weather-wise it couldn’t be more perfect. Low 60’s, dry air and a cool breeze wrapped around warm sunlight add up to a gentle weather massage every time you step out the door.

I love it. It has temporarily at least cured my addiction to Lord of the Rings Online! Unless I can figure out how to plug the computer in outdoors. Hhhmmm. No. That’s just the addiction talking. I want to run, swim, fish, hunt, take a walk and bungee dive off a high cliff.

Or take a walk at the very least. Perhaps I will wander over to the University of Richmond and take some photos. No doubt the coeds have turned up there by now in their fine fall fashions.

Tonight Zachary wants me to come downtown and join him at a Move On Dot Org rally for Teddy Kennedy and universal health care. Poor Teddy left us recently as we all know and I think Zach said something about candles and song. Or maybe it was something else. I’m not sure and I don’t think I’ve ever heard of this group either.

Perhaps they have some fall fashions i can photograph. There are lots of trees in Monroe Park too. I enjoy photographing trees.

Such a promising day and the air is so perfect. It really makes sense to exercise every day! Otherwise a retired person like your blogging buddy might not even know the weather had changed!

Photos at eleven!! as they say.

  1. LOL, well I am happy you got out and had a chance to take in that beautiful weather you have there!

As for us here, I have to tell you David, we wait all winter and then pretty cold spring for that nice summer and then… either crazy humidity or as in this year’s case, cool, too cool in fact and rainy temperatures. Sure we got a few nice days, but I definitely did not feel like I had enough of summer.

Right about now maybe 2 weeks down south somewhere would do it, but that is just not in the cards at the moment.

So again, enjoy your weather and your exercises πŸ™‚

P.S. I am working my way through a few projects, but have not forgotten about an RLS post on Wellness. It is on my to-do! πŸ™‚

  3. Good weather is all it took for curing addiction (temporarily, at least) for lord of the rings online. I haven’t really tried LOTR. I’m more of a World of Warcraft guy, but yeah, it really is nice going outside and take a break from the beautiful virtual landscapes from games to see beautiful landscapes in reality.

As Blizzard said : “take everything into moderation. Even World of Warcraft!” (or LOTR, in your case) πŸ˜€

    Cheers!
