  1. Those were scary if heady days. Many of my friends went south to assist the movement any way they could.

    More recently, as an American history teacher, I always spent a week or two dealing with ML King and the Civil Rights Movement. It seems so long ago now.

    1. Yes, I’m watching Oprah interview some Freedom Riders now. They are talking about their bus being attacked by a mob! That bus was a moving target. Imagine the courage it took to get on it!
