There Is No Reason

Blogs or Posts, D's Poetry

There is no reason
For me
To be away
A few more days, except
To feel the pain
Of missing you.

Last night I dreamed
You were gone
And wandered, crying
In the woods.
Awoke to a lonely room,
An ancient remedy.

Soon I will hurry home
Exhausted. Unable to run
Any longer. Leaving
One I have
Taken for granted
Far behind.

Remembering
You keep old things
Around, grieving

The loss
Of fond memories,
Worn clothes and me.

Thanks for letting me know, Robin, that comments were not working for you. I installed something last night to try and remedy the spam problem and, of course, it immediately hassled one of my most cherished friends. Anyway, here is the comment. Please let me know, folks, if you have problems commenting. . .

“Dear David, I read your recent poem/post and was SO moved by it that I tried to leave you a comment but your site would not let me. It told me their was an error and that I needed a password. Soooo. I am posting my comment here (have added a bit to it, too).

This was your poem and below it is my comment.

This is sooooo beautifully written and soooo deeply felt on my end, dear David. It truly is one of your most powerful poems. It is poignant, pensive, filled with important reminders for us all, and so much more. Although I do not know of whom you speak in this poem, I still understand and deeply FEEL your feelings, my feelings, the human condition so profoundly expressed in this poem. I think these are feelings we all feel at some point in our lives. That is the thing about your poetry which I have always noticed, although you write about your OWN feelings and life, it’s as if you speak to the very core feelings in all of us. That is a GREAT gift, my precious friend.

I am just so proud of you, dear David. I am inspired by your creativity, your courage, and your determination. You are like a light the comes in and out of my life, but that is always there reminding me of who I REALLY am, reminding me to “stay” my true path, reminding me to be true to my core essence….even if no one else understand me or likes me….BE TRUE. I am so blessed for that. There is just something so authentic about you. Much love and gratitude to you dear soul. Thank you.”
